Even though it’s winter time, the weather in southern California is still warm and sunny. Enjoy the good weather with a refreshing glass of wine or beer. Check out these cool beer and wine events happening around greater Los Angeles.

Mezze and The Bruery

On Wednesday, February 22, Mezze and The Bruery will team up to host a night of small plates of Eastern Mediterranean cuisine and beer tasting. Mezze, which means “sharing” in Arabic, is a new culinary spot that highlights a variety of flavors from Israel, Lebanon, Morocco, Syria, and Turkey. The culinary experience is intimate, with a bar and open expanse of glass that showcases Chef Micah Wexler at work.

The menu features a four-course menu created by Wexler. The menu includes choices such as baby yellowtail crudo with pomegranate gremolata, duck gallantine with pistachio and medjool dates, and hand rolled cous cous with braised vegetables. For dessert, you can choose between a black and Indian lime pie or churros with baharat and chocolate. All these delicious selections are paired with a selection of limited new edition beers chosen by Ben Weiss of The Bruery.

Mezze is located at 401 North La Cienega Boulevard in Los Angeles.

BLVD 16 at the Hotel Palomar Westwood

Swanky and sophisticated, BLVD 16 is known for its contemporary decor as well as dishes that feature fresh and local ingredients. Helmed by Executive Chef Richard Hodge at the Hotel Palomar Westwood, the BLVD 16 is known for its sustainable practices such as using organic ingredients and adhering to a farm-to-table dining experience. You’ll have the opportunity to experience all this at the Mingling Soirée on Thursday, February 23 at BLVD 16.

The event features gourmet bites from Hodge as well as refreshing drinks from the bar. Options for bar bites include short rib sliders with robbiola cheese and crispy cheese as well as flatbread topped with butternut squash, sweet apples, burrata and truffle honey. Ticket price for the event includes a glass of wine, complimentary light appetizers, and the opportunity to mingle with other Angelenos.

BLVD 16 is located at 10740 Wilshire Boulevard in Los Angeles.

Winehouse

Winehouse will celebrate Italian wines Sunday, February 26 with an Italian Wine Fest. Based near Santa Monica and Beverly Hills, Winehouse has been serving customers for the past 30 years. A family-owned business, the store is dedicated to wine education and fine dining.

The Italian Producer Fest features a number of Italy’s renowned wines and their producers. Attendees will have the opportunity to discuss with the wine owners first hand and to sample 35 different indigenous wines from all over Italy.  To accompany the wines, small bites will also be served at the wine tasting.
