Haute Living takes a look at the 2012 Lexus LFA, a high-performance super car with a starting price tag of $375,000 and a top speed of 202 mph.

If you’re in the market for a new luxury car, the 2012 Lexus LFA may be the one for you. While certainly a pricey purchase, the car is extremely limited in volume (reportedly only 500 will be made) and was built to highlight Lexus’ technical expertise. It features a V-10 engine and can go from 0-60 mph in 3.7 seconds. It’s a compact car makes 533 horsepower at 8700 rpm and revs up to 9000 rpm.

The transmission on the LFA is somewhat distinctive with both a “standard manual transmission and dual-clutch gearbox for a single-clutch six-speed sequential gearbox.” Lexus says it will be selective about whom it will sell to — car collectors and high-profile individuals who use the car rather than park it.

The car features an obvious Japanese aesthetic, and with 30 available colors to select from, the car features sharp edges and matte-black vents.

The LFA, which features an extensive carbon fiber construction, comes 22 years after the launch of the very first Lexus marking a special milestone for the Lexus brand. Production for the LFA began in December 2010.

On the interior of the LFA there is a multitude of high-tech amenities such as a digital tachometer in the cockpit, which was selected because of its ability to accurately capture the speed from the V-10 engine revs. Of course, special packages are available, such as the special Nurburgring Edition that allows for exterior and interior modifications.

Despite it’s hefty price tag, Lexus says that it will actually lose money on each car, which is not unheard of considering the last car that incorporated a similar level of technology, performance and exclusivity was the $650,000 Ferrari Enzo, costing nearly double what the Lexus LFA is priced at.
