Chef Armstrong’s Much-Anticipated Post & Beam Restaurant Grand Opening Yesterday

The long-anticipated Post & Beam restaurant, owned by Brad Johnson and Chef Govind Armstrong, was a fifteen-month process that finally had its grand opening yesterday.

The menu will be purposely kept limited – no more than a two-dozen choices will be offered. Dishes included pizzas with housemade pork sausage and sticky ribs, black eyed peas and sweet potatoes and the Chef’s personal favorite, grilled octopus with garbanzo beans, preserved lemons and cracked olives. Many of the dishes will feature fresh ingredients produced from Post & Beam’s own 2800 square-feet patio garden.

Chef Govind Armstrong was the owner of the previously famed 8 oz Burger restaurant, now closed. According to Chef Armstrong, Post & Beam is homage to the Baldwin Hills neighbourhood – much of the homes within it
