The Sounds Of Old Hawaii Comes To Travaasa Hana

News | December 8, 2011

There’s nothing more relaxing than listening to traditional Hawaiian music at a luxurious seaside resort.

Upgrade that visual with Grammy Award-winning artists George Kahumoku Jr. (above) and Daniel Ho strumming at an Aloha Friday event at the destination hotel Travaasa Hana on Maui’s rugged eastern coastline.

Both Hawaiian music masters will host a slack key and ukulele workshop — free and open to the public — from 4 to 5 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16 at the Makana Activities Center. Then the duo will perform at 7:30 p.m. at Kauiki Restaurant beneath the stars at the experiential destination hotel, formerly known as Hotel Hana-Maui.

Located about 52 miles from Kahului, Hana is considered one of the last unspoiled frontiers in Hawaii. Travaasa Hana opened here in June.
