Haute Retreat: Four Seasons Maui Hosts two yoga retreats
If the luxurious accommodations at the Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea weren’t enough to get you to Maui, maybe an exclusive retreat with world-renowned yoga practitioners will.
The lux resort is hosting two yoga retreats next year. First, celebrated Los Angeles-based instructor Kathryn Budig (above) will host a five-day retreat based on the Vinyasa style of yoga from Feb. 27 to March 3. She will focus on techniques to connect breath to movement and to better open and strengthen your body and mind.
In June, to coincide with the Maui Film Festival, David Swenson, author of the best-selling “Ashtanga Yoga: The Practice Manual” (below), who, along with his wife, Shelley Washington, will lead a series of sessions on ashtanga yoga, from specific poses to controlled breathing. The goal is to help students, regardless of level, improve their practice — all against the beautiful natural setting of Wailea.
Both retreats are part of the resort’s ongoing Unforgettable Events series.
Cost to attend Budig’s five-day retreat starts at $3,800 per person and includes accommodations at the exclusive property nestled on 15 acres of the breathtaking Wailea coast, full daily breakfast at DUO, four sunrise and three sunset yoga sessions with Budig, two off-site excursions to inspirational settings, a welcome reception and talk-story sessions.
Swenson’s sessions will run from June 13 to 17.
