The Wynn gets a Facelift

News | November 15, 2011

The Wynn Hotel and Casino is undergoing some major reconstructive surgery—just in time for New Years.  The Tower Suite’s lobby and Tableau Restaurant are currently shuttered and appear to be undergoing serious renovations.  When the Tower Suite’s lobby reopens, the space formerly occupied by Alex Stratta’s signature restaurant—and  serving as an interment VIP lobby during renovations— will be turned into a new nightclub called Climax.

Climax will be operated by Sean Christie’s Las Vegas Nightlife Group (of Surrender and Encore Beach Club fame).  Other plans in motion: the current nightclubs, Tryst and XS, are slated for renovation in the next year.  In terms of Wynn restaurant motion—Mark LoRusso’s Botero is being redone and Okada will apparently follow suit come February. Rene Langer’s Switch may be pushed out in March, to make way for a Latin concept by Michael Morton—son of the famed Morton’s of Chicago founder Arnie Morton.
