New York’s Nevada Smiths Closes for Relocation

News | November 28, 2011

Beloved East Village soccer bar Nevada Smiths closed its doors last night but will be reopening soon in a new space just a block away at 100 Third Avenue.

According to the bar’s website, the old space, located at 74 Third Ave., is being demolished in the near future to make way for a block of luxury apartments. To say goodbye to its old location, Nevada Smiths hosted a farewell party last night with a DJ and giveaways.

Nevada Smiths is known as the place where “soccer is religion,” the world’s most famous live soccer venue. It shows over 100 live matches per week from the world’s top leagues plus all the cup and International action.

The new venue is expected to open sometime early next year.
