India’s Wealthiest Man Pays $30 Million for Tower in London’s Olympic Park

Lakshmi Mittal is the wealthiest man in India and he recently footed the bill for the $30 million, 377-foot-tall tower located in the Olympic Park in London.

The observation tower, which will be called ArcelorMittal Orbit (named for Mittal’s steel company) is pegged to be the architectural centerpiece for the park that will be hosting the 2012 London Olympics.

In addition to him fronting the bill for the tower, Mittal also purchased 5,000 tickets to the Olympics.

While Mittal paid $30 million for the tower, spending extreme amounts of money on big things isn’t new to him – he allegedly spent $60 million on his daughters wedding.
