HAUTE EVENT: HOLIDAY HOUSE GALA WITH BREAST CANCER SURVIVORS AND ADVOCATES

On November 15th, The Opening Night Gala for te hHoliday-themed Designer Show House event benefiting the Greater New York City Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure took place.

Entertainment was provided by Chris Gillespie from NYC’s Carlyle Hotel while the evening’s honorary chairs are Sara Gore, host of LXTV, and Maurice Dubois, CBS 2 News anchor.

The Gala kicked off the start of the HOLIDAY HOUSE which will feature original tabletop designs, settings and rooms by renowned interior designers. Designers will create unique tables and rooms celebrating specific holidays, from a New Year’s Eve party to a Thanksgiving dinner, a Hanukkah celebration and more. Ally Coulter is preparing a Mother’s Day celebration complete with Ralph Lauren furnishings; Inson Dubois Wood’s design will celebrate the Chinese New Year. James Rixner is preparing his room for a sweet Valentine’s Day. Sferra is creating a celebration in honor of their 120th anniversary, complete with a pop-up shop. Eileen Kathryn Boyd will be creating a relaxing Sunday at home.

HOLIDAY HOUSE 2011 will offer an array of activities, such as chocolate tastings by Mariebelle Chocolatier, holiday shopping nights, wine tasting hosted by Brooklyn Winery and a Potterton pop-up-bookstore. In addition, the show house will feature lectures and book signings with a host of authors, from Keith Granet and Amy Lau, to Campion Platt and Celerie Kemble.

The venue for HOLIDAY HOUSE 2011 has been generously donated by Emily and Leonard Blavatnik, and will be lit up in pink by Suffolk Designer Lighting’s finest, William Kreitsek Jr. HOLIDAY HOUSE will be open to the public now through Sunday, December 11th, 2011.

Admission is $30. Hours are 11 AM until 5 PM. Tuesdays and Thursdays until 8 PM.
