Bakery and Pizzeria Milo & Olive Opens in Santa Monica

News | November 23, 2011

Milo & Olive is a new modern rustic restaurant that just opened in Santa Monica. Owners Josh Loeb and Zoe Nathan are known for their Westside farm-to-table eateries such as Rustic Canyon, Huckleberry and Sweet Rose Creamery.

With clean lines, light-filled dining space and an exposed beam ceiling, Milo & Olive is a new bakery and pizzeria that focuses on baked goods, breakfast plates, olive wood-fired artisan pizzas, salads and small plates.

For breakfast things at Mile & Olive are super casual and include coffee from Verve Roasters, frittatas, quiches and house-made bagels. Chef Nathan is also serving gluten-free muffins, which is a “rich chocolate-banana affair.”

On December 1 Milo & Olive will roll out about 8-10 different pizzas to be served at 11 a.m. in addition to 12-15 small plates and salads. Once Milo & Olive is fully functional, there may be seating for around 20, but because of the somewhat limited seating situation, take-out will be a big business. Loeb plans to eventually offer curbside delivery.
