CANCER SURVIVORS AND LOCAL CELEBRITIES HIT THE RUNWAY AT THE FALLS “STRUT YOUR STUFF FOR CANCER”

The Falls first-ever “Strut Your Stuff For Cancer” fundraising event on Thursday, October 6 was a huge success with over 300 registered guests walking for Cancer Support Community Greater Miami, Sandy B. Muller Breast Cancer Foundation and La Liga Contra El Cancer.

Survivors, supporters, and those still battling the disease showed off their stylish stilettos ready to “strut their stuff” at The Falls.  The highlight of the evening was a fashion show emceed by Tamara G., co-host of the COAST 97.3 FM morning show, featuring survivors and their angels (those who have helped them recover) strutting their stuff on the catwalk.

Dressed in the latest fall fashions, survivors including Teresita Ortiz, Francisca Gonzalez, and Sandy Muller were cheered on, raising $10,000 for the three local charities.  Local celebrities including Roxanne Vargas, Diana Gonzalez, Amara Sohn and Nathalie Pozo of NBC6, Sasha Andrade and Johanna Gomez of Local10, Lisett Mari of Telemundo and Sonia Parissos of Univision also shared the stage in honor of breast cancer awareness.

Attendees enjoyed a chic, pink-themed cocktail hour and live entertainment.  Guests mingled while enjoying a delicious array of tasty bites, decadent desserts, and beverages from The Melting Pot, Ever After Cake Designs, CrepeMaker, Johnny Rockets, Macy’s Taste Bar, Mena Catering, Blue Martini, Brugal Rum, and Rex Goliath Wines.

The most popular “rejuvenation” stop featured was The Pink Heals Tour with their signature pink fire truck and firemen outfitted in pink bunker gear.  Women were able to leave their mark on the pink truck, which was covered in personal dedications to survivors and loved ones from previous stops.  Attendees were enthusiastic to join a movement that spreads breast cancer awareness one city at a time.
