Piaget The Official Timekeeper of The Third Beijing International Polo Open Tournament
Luxury watch brand Piaget has been named the officially timekeeper China’s top tier polo tournament, The Beijing Polo Open Tournament. Piaget’s has a history of continuous support of the sport in China and this year marks a milestone with the event going global by cooperating with The World Polo Tour, meaning China can now register international ranking points.
The event is organized at the foot of The Great Wall Badaling Section and brings together a marvellous assembly of famous polo players across the world.
Piaget’s history with Chinese Polo can be dated back to the Chinese Han Dynasty. In 1950s, the British brought it from India to Europe, which was then spread from European palaces to the entire world. Its intricacy and fun fascinate the royals helped polo become the most desirable sport amongst the upper class. n 1979, Piaget was inspired by the strength and beauty of polo and created a creative watch in real gold surfaced with chain belt which became known as the Piaget collection. In 1980s, thanks to the fourth generation heir, Mr. Yves G. Besides, Mr. Heguy also supervises the new Pilará-Piaget Polo School, a training centre that give instruction and coaching to a new generation of players.
