Hublot Chukker Bang Watch For Polo

There is seemingly no sport or activity that Hublot feels too foreign to participate in. Hublot’s newest watch revolves around the world of Polo. As a sponsor of the Polo Gold Cup Gstaad for several years, Hublot has now released a limited edition watch in honor of the game. The 44.5mm wide titanium watch has two bezel options and is matched to a tan leather strap that is highly reminiscent of riding boots and saddles.

Like Hublot has done with some of their timepieces made for soccer, they have specially designed the chronograph minute counter to apply to the game. The aptly named Chukker Bang watch has a chronograph that measures 7.5 minutes – the total length of one Polo game half (aka “chukka”).

For the design of the watch Hublot reportedly worked with Polo player (and Hublot brand ambassador) Facundo Pieres. One unique version of the Chukker Bang watch has a titanium grill that is integrated into the titanium bezel. Traditionally, such grills were mean to protect vulnerable watch crystals during sport activities. In Polo – with balls, sticks, and hooves flying around – this was particularly a concern. Versions of the Chukker Bang without this grill have black ceramic material bezels (and there is apparently one style with a diamond decorated bezel).

Inside the Chukker Bang watch is an Hublot caliber HUB1141 automatic chronograph movement with a flyback function. The Hublot Chukker Bang collection will be limited to 500 pieces.
