Haute Event: Whitney Museum’s Annual Gala and Studio Party

For the first time ever the Whitney Museum’s annual Gala & Studio Party is being held outside of the Whitney Museum. Keeping in theme with the legendary museum’s move to the Meatpacking District and the Whitney’s Groundbreaking this past May, the event will be held at a new location, Hudson River Park at Pier 57 on October 5^th, 2011.

Calvin Tomkins, renowned The New Yorker art writer, will be honored for the first time for his many achievements. Guests will also be treated to a new limited edition art video instillation by famed artist Marilyn Minter.

Fern Tessler, Jill Bikoff and Ginevra Caltagirone are co-chairing the lavish event. Marchesa will be this year’s fashion sponsor Marchesa along with additional help by JP Morgan Chase/Ritz Carlton Rewards, AOL and Moet Hennessy.
