WHAT’S HAUTE : New York Fashion’s Night Out

 Like a haute Halloween for jet-set adults, this year’s Fashions Night Out will undoubtedly include a who’s who of New York, dressed to the nines and roaming the streets from party to party, satisfying their fashion cravings.

Move over Fashion Week, there’s a new girl in town and she’s here for one night only. She’s full of style, energy and attracts New York’s finest. Introducing Fashion’s Night Out, a celebrated evening of style and star-studded events, crafted to support the fashion and retail industries around the world. On September 8, for the third year in a row, designers, models, fashion editors, celebrities, fashionistas and socialites gather throughout New York City for fashion’s sake. Like a haute Halloween for jet-set adults, this year’s Fashions Night Out will undoubtedly include a who’s who of New York, dressed to the nines and roaming the streets from party to party, satisfying their fashion cravings. From exclusive, limited edition items to DJs, photo booths and more, we’ve rounded up the can’t-miss events of this year’s Fashion’s Night Out.

The luxury specialty retaile venue will be participating in Fashion’s Night Out by donating 10 percent of its Madison Avenue flagship store’s sales and 10 percent of its Barneys.com sales from the entire day and evening to the National September 11 Memorial & Museum. This year marks the tenth anniversary of the September 11th attacks and Barneys New York will commemorate this significant date through a fashionable donation to this worthy cause.

Stop by for the BG Best In Show, the second annual designer dog show, as your favorite designers and their canine companions stroll the third floor catwalk with host James Aguiar and guest judges Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig of Marchesa, Santiago Gonzalez, and blogger Tina Craig of The Bags Snob. Dance to the music by Johnny Dynell and a live musical performance by Audrianna Cole while you rub shoulders with designer guests Alexandra Vidal, Badgley Mischka, Bibhu Mohapatra, Cushnie et Ochs, John Barrett, Joseph Altuzarra, Kimberly McDonald, Laurence Dacade, Lela Rose, Nicholas Varney, Pamella Roland, Reem Acra and Wes Gordon. As an added bonus, at 6:45 p.m., join BG’s Linda Fargo to wish Michael Kors a Happy Anniversary – 30 years at Bergdorf Goodman –  in the Fifth Avenue Windows.

Across the street at the men’s store, join in on the “BG Whisker Wars” Roundtable Discussion at 7:30 p.m. moderated by Glenn O’Brien. Listen on as writers, designers and celebrity panelists defend their points of view on the hotly-debated topic of facial hair versus clean-shaven. Expect to see Max Blagg, Marlon Gobel, David Coggins and a few special surprise guests. Show off your facial hair – real or faux – and have your photo taken by our long-time crush, Ruby Kobo designer Yuvi Alpert.
