
Apparently an imposing presence here on Earth was simply not enough for Sheikh Hamad Bin Hamdan Al Nahyan. His name “Hamad” is now visible from space in the form of a two mile-long and kilometer high etching in the sand.
The entire “H”, the first “A” and part of the “M” have been made into waterways.
The Sheikh is a member of the ruling family of Abu Dhabi. Only the Saudi king tops the Sheikh’s £14billion fortune. Hamad stores his more than 200 cars in a custom-built pyramid, and has seven Mercedes 500 SELs in all the colors of the rainbow.
Sheikh Hamad also owns his own private island called Al Futaisi, which is where the carving is located. This snapshot is an actual view from space:
