Haute 100 Update: Beyonce Lands the Lead in Clint Eastwood’s ‘A Star is Born’
Haute 100 New York member and international R&B superstar Beyonce has been cast by Clint Eastwood as the lead for his upcoming remake of “A Star is Born”. It seems that Beyonce has not only risen among the ranks to the top of the music industry, but now the 29-year-old’s film prowess has garnered the attention of one of Hollywood’s most revered film figures.
Director and Haute 100 San Francisco member Clint Eastwood sought out Beyonce for his take on the story of an emerging starlet and her relationship with an older thespian. Now, she’s no stranger to the A-list, but she had to admit she was a bit nervous. She commented, “I met with Clint and I was so nervous and I know that it is the biggest opportunity of my life. I will work as hard as I can. Because I can’t wait. And I am so happy that he trusts me and I am in good hands and I am so fortunate.”
Beyonce is no stranger to the story. According to the still-rising star, she became a Barbara Streisand fan while watching previous versions of the film with her mother. She adds, “And I then saw Judy Garland‘s version of ‘A Star Is Born’ and I realized every 20 to 30 years a new star is born and a new talent represents that generation and era – so I didn’t think that I would ever get the opportunity to be the star.”
Beyonce is currently wrapping up promotions for her latest album, “4”, and production of the film is slated to begin later this year.
