Seiko continues to contribute to Japanese luxury culture through well-respected brands such as “Grand Seiko” and “WAKO.” In July 2024, the Japanese corporation began developing THE GIFT OF TIME to reawaken the value and richness of Japan’s unique culture.

To symbolize this project, Seiko spearheaded an impressive transformation in Ginza, Tokyo, of WAKO’s main store in Seiko House on the basement floor. The renovations have led to an “Arts and Culture” center, blending craftsmanship and heritage.

The documentary views time as something one should nurture in harmony with the natural world and its seasons. THE GIFT OF TIME aims to communicate a multi-perspective exploration of time’s forceful presence in creativity, guidance in spirituality, and expression of Japanese artistry. With an emphasis on the partnership between time, nature, and luxury in Japanese art, Seiko hopes to convey Japan’s unique perspective on the “culture of time” to international audiences.

The global release of this project serves as a cultural overpass that emboldens Seiko to share Japan’s timeless values and craftsmanship with the rest of the world. THE GIFT OF TIME represents Japanese luxury through a modern reimagining that positions the culture as an eternal yet constantly progressing legacy.
