News | June 13, 2011

Grammy-nominated pop band Fountains of Wayne caught the Dirt Nasty and the Dyslexic Speedreaders performance Saturday from the band’s private cabana at the Hard Rock Hotel. The set kicked off with their new hit single, “I Can’t Dance” before band member Beardo got the crowd going with a sing-along rendition of Beastie Boys’ hit “Fight For Your Right.” Beardo, fresh off a 100-date tour with Ke$ha, performed in the middle of the pool and had people singing into the microphone.

The cast of MTV’s “The Real World: Las Vegas” returned to Hard Rock Hotel this weekend where they lived in a lavish suite for three months during the filming of the 25th season of the popular reality show. The group was in town for the dedication of the hotel’s memorabilia case containing the custom-painted guitar crafted by the cast in support of the local Make Music Matter charity, which supports music programs across the Vegas valley.

On Friday night, the cast of MTV’s “The Real World: Las Vegas” were in town for a special performance by Simon Rex, aka Dirt Nasty, and his band, the Dyslexic Speedreaders, at Vanity Nightclub at the Hard Rock Hotel. Rex, fresh off the Charlie Sheen appearance tour, drank mixed drinks during his set and mingled with the girls from the show.
