Haute Dining: Chef Michael Shikany’s Exclusive New Dining Club
For serious gastronomes who revel in new and exciting culinary conquests, Chef Michael Shikany of Sushi Samba and La Cofradia fame brings an exclusive opportunity for foodies with his new Interactive Dinner Series, an extraordinary new dining club. The membership will entitle those who make it past the approval process to a series of innovative and positively divine dinners and events to take place at Miami’s hautest locales, such as gorgeous penthouses and waterfront homes, art galleries, and luxurious yachts.
Diners who wish to gain membership must submit a profile, which will be subject to approval. (We’re sure our readers will do just fine.) Upon said approval, prepare to have your tastebuds rocked and your mind blown. Hailing from renowned kitchens like New York’s Babbo, Le Bernadin, Gramercy Tavern, as well as some of Miami’s most heralded restaurants, the French Culinary Institute-trained Chef Shikany plans for club members to enjoy amazing events including winemaker dinners, cooking classes, culinary and wine tours, impressive brunches involving stylish brands like Tesla Motors, and – above all – incredibly delectable dinners.
May 19th’s exclusive media preview of the club generated some serious buzz with a sumptuous five-course feast, which began with a starter of yuzu-injected ahi tuna with white truffle and ponzu. Additionally, an ambrosial take on beef tartare was savored, served on creamy purple potato mousse with shallot-watercress crème fraiche, and a dish of cheesy orzo and butter-poached lobster – all finished off with jerk-rubbed foie gras drizzled with a pear-maple reduction with cocktails to follow on an $8 million 88-ft. Ferretti yacht.
