Bulgari’s Multi-Million Dollar Residences to Debut In London

News | May 6, 2011

Six multi-million dollar residences will be made available in Bulgari’s upcoming luxury hotel according to Christie’s International Real Estate.

The Bulgari Residences will also include one penthouse in the much-anticipated development designed by the famed Italian fashion house.

Bulgari has been associated with Italian chic for over one century and are experts in creating jewelry admired by the rich and famous. Just four years after the opening of its flagship store on New Bond Street, the luxury goods group, will be opening its third hotel globally in Knightsbridge.

Luxury hotels

There are only two other Bulgari hotels globally—one in Bali and the other in Milan. The hotel in Knightsbridge will have 85 rooms, including seven 2,150 square-foot suites. It will feature a ballroom, a private cinema, a spa and an indoor pool, as well as a restaurant, and bar.

Bulgari moved into the hotel market in 2001 when it signed a joint venture with Marriott International. The declared strategy was for the two companies to invest $140 million (£89 million) in equity and loans over five years, with Bulgari taking a 65 percent stake and Marriott the balance. Plans were reportedly in place to develop sites in London, Rome, Paris, New York, Miami, Southern California as well as other island resorts.

Knightsbridge glamour

Both the hotel and residences, which will be ready in time for the 2012 London Olympics, will be distinguished by: “exquisite concierge service, unparalleled architectural and design achievements.”

The development was designed by Antonio Citterio, Patricia Viel & Partners, while Squire and Partners is the local architect for the project. Complying with strict environmental and building aesthetics, the hotel will include a “rooftop habitat, which preserves London’s treasured urban wildlife.”

Giles Hannah, director of European sales for Christie’s International Real Estate, said: “The Bulgari name stamps this opportunity to own in Knightsbridge with international provenance and a promise of excellence.

The new project is likely to make luxury holidays in London a good alternative to those overseas.
