News | May 25, 2011

Since its inception in 1993, the world renowned San Francisco Ballet has graced audiences with spectacular performances and Balanchine originals.  With so many wonders this company has to offer, the annual San Francisco Ballet Auxiliary fashion show was one not to miss.

On May 10, 2011 the SF Ballet in collaboration with Saks Fifth Avenue hosted its 38th fashion show with guest designer Giambattista Valli at the Grand Ballroom at the Fairmont San Francisco.

Attendees enjoyed French-inspired cuisine by acclaimed San Francisco chef Gorgon Drysdale and Justin Deering of Café des Amis, Jw & Bar, and Bill Corbett of Absinth Brasserie & Bar.

During the auction Xaiojun Lee had the winning bid of $15,000 for a safari in Tanzania to be shared with his goddaughter and prima ballerina Yuan Yuan Tan.  Other auctioned off items included an Italian feast with two of the company’s principle dancers, tickets to the 2011 Nutcracker, Louisville Kentucky Derby seats, and a Costa Rican Getaway.
