Fashion Season Starts off in Moscow
The fashion carousel is already turning at full speed in Moscow as two separate fashion weeks have started this week in Russian Capital. These are Volvo Fashion Week Moscow and recently rebranded Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia. Like India, Brazil, Iceland and many other burgeoning fashion countries, Russia is seeking its style-stake in the global market.
Haute couturiers from around the world have started showcasing their latest collections. Illustrious Russian fashion designers Valentin Yudashkin and Vecheslav Zaitsev opened fashion extravaganza with splendid catwalk shows.
The week-long events will feature new collection by Russia’s premier couturiers and their colleagues from abroad. Italy’s famous La Perla brand will unveil a new collection as part of the Russia-Italy cross-culture year. Other highlights include the Day of British fashion on the 3rd of April featuring the shows from emerging designers James Long, Louise Gray and Marios Schwab.
Fashion addicts will get together at Gostinny Dvor at Varvarka street, 3 for Volvo Fashion Week. The shows schedule can be found at www.fashionweek.ru.
Meanwhile other fashion connoisseurs will gather round The Congress-Hall of the World Trade Center until April 5 where Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week takes place. Supermodel Karolina Kurkova will be at front row watching. With more then 90 shows on the way listed at www.mercedesbenzfashionweekrussia.com the week promises to be pretty packed! Not to mention fashion pre and after parties.
