Haute Event: Texas De Brazil Celebrates Carnival in Chicago With a Benefit

Can’t make it to Rio for the biggest party of the year? Texas de Brazil, Chicago churrascaria is celebrating Carnival, Brazil’s biggest holiday with a benefit for two local charities, The Gateway for Cancer Research and American Theater Company.  Guests are invited to experience the fiesta with complimentary cocktails and appetizers and a festive Carnival atmosphere.

The Carnival of Brazil is an annual festival held forty-six days before Easter, culminating on Fat Tuesday.  The country stops completely for almost a week and festivities are intense, both day and night.  There are carnival celebrations in virtually every corner of Brazil, the best-known ones taking place in Recife together with the neighboring Olinda (in the North of Brazil) and Salvador, with the biggest and most famous being the Carnival in Rio de Janeiro.

The Gateway for Cancer Research is focused on finding cures for cancer today.  They are changing how research is being done, working hard to make treatments available to cancer patients more quickly and funding bold new ideas that can give cancer patients hope for a healthy future.  American Theater Company is an ensemble of artists committed to producing new and classic American stories that ask the question: “What does it mean to be an American?”  They foster a nurturing environment for artists to take risks and create essential work.
