Haute Eats: Bluefin’s Red Cross Fundraiser

As the American Red Cross does its best to get donations in for the tragic earthquake and tsunami in Japan, people all over Orange County are jumping in to help them. One of the places you can go is haute sushi spot Bluefin, where on Sunday, March 27th, they’ll be hosting a Red Cross Fundraiser for Japan.

The popular Crystal Cove Promenade restaurant will be offering a special all you can eat style brunch on the 27th with three seatings. From 10:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (with seatings at 10:30 a.m., 12 p.m. and 1:30 p.m) the restaurant will be offering the special buffet for $50 per diner. 100% of the donation is tax deductible and the brunch menu will include a wide variety of appetizers, traditional sushi, rolls and grilled items, as well as soda and special beers and sake.

Bluefin’s Master Chef ,Takashi Abe, has always been a favorite of local diners and has been ranked by Zagat as one of the top Chefs of Orange County. He is a native of Yamagata, Japan, and began his culinary career at age 18 in a traditional-style Japanese restaurant in his hometown. Later, he worked in Tokyo, immersing himself in the technique of classical Japanese cooking.  Later, he moved to America was the private chef at the Japanese Embassy and later spent four years working under Master Chef Nobu Matsuhisa in Los Angeles
