Save the Date: The Wilderness Invades the Miami Art Museum

It is only the first days of March, but mark your calendars for a great exhibit set to open at the end of the month at the Miami Art Museum.

The Wilderness, Miami Art Museum’s newest exhibit officially debuts on Saturday, March 26 with an opening reception and artists’ talk with David Brooks, Christy Gast and Allan McCollum. The group exhibition tackles the delicate and sometimes controversial subject of the disappearing South Florida Everglades through a variety of interactive mediums – sculpture and film. Seating for the group artist talk, at 6 p.m., is limited, so arrive early. You may also RSVP to rsvp@miamiartmuseum.org.

In coordination with the new exhibit, docent led tours of the exhibit will be held every first and third Sundays at 2 p.m., starting April 3. For more information, contact: education@miamiartmuseum.org or 305.375.4073.

The Wilderness will be on display between March 27 – June 27, 2011.
