Cynthia Steffe Debuts Fall 2011 Collection; Partners with Via Spiga
It is only February and I for one am already excited for next fall after seeing the debut of Cynthia Steffe’s Fall 2011 collection. The fashion show took place on Sunday, February 13th at the Studio in Lincoln Center and once again Creative Director Shaun Kearney collaborated with Via Spiga for footwear following the success of their similar partnership for the line’s Spring 2011 show. The result is the Via Spiga Ethos shoe which was featured prominently during the fashion show and is an “edgy and fashionable shoe bootic on a chic platform.”
Paula Venturi, Creative Director for Via Spiga adds that “The Via Spiga woman has a polished, feminine style that aligns perfectly with Shaun Kearney’s beautiful designs for Cynthia Steffe. We have selected shoes for the runway show that complement the spirt of Shaun’s collection and convey a modern yet timeless sense of style.”
Complementing this gorgeous shoe were lots of textured tights, neck muffs, a leather pencil skirt, several standout coats, fitted “loop” sweaters and textured vests. Despite the heavy use of leather and wool (both a must for surviving the cold winter months) which are textures that can illicit concern in some fashionistas who fret about appearing bulky or uncouth, Kierney manages to make garmets that are both flattering and chic. “I wanted a very modern, more wearable approach to something very opulent,” said Kierney.
