What Makes Him Haute: Known for his Mr Chow empire, Michael Chow has been in the restaurant business for more than 30 years. His establishments, which specialize in highly sophisticated Beijing cuisine, have flourished in the world’s hottest cities, including London, Beverly Hills, New York, and Las Vegas. He and his beautiful wife Eva personally design each of the chic locales, which are lauded for their décor and artwork as much as for the cuisine. The power couple descended upon South Florida shores last year to open a restaurant in the W South Beach, and Mr Chow immediately became the place to be seen and to see, as the design is sophisticated and pristine. Many of the paintings, sketches, and portraits adorning the walls come from the Chow’s personal collection.

What Makes Him Haute Now: Michael Chow, very well-known for his innovative and modern designed restaurants, is set to participate in the annual ChefDance, an event that is held with accordance to the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah. ChefDance is visited by A-list celebrity chefs and internationally acclaimed chefs that prepare their finest gourmet for almost 250 attendees. But Mr Chow won’t be leaving empty-handed. He is to receive the ChefDance Legend Award 2011. But that shouldn’t come as surprise since Mr Chow has caught the attention of many celebrities, even the likes of Andy Warhol and Giorgio Armani.
