Island Hopping: Holiday Celebrations at the Island Hotel

If you find yourself feeling a little lost at sea this holiday season, consider yourself rescued by the Island Hotel. With a full schedule for everything from Christmas to New Year’s Eve (and New Year’s Day if you decide to step upstairs and stay the night), you can forget your holiday plans and just escape to the Island.

The Island’s hot spot Palm Terrace will be serving a Christmas Eve dinner menu from Chef Bill Braken featuring options like  soul and stomach-warming roasted celery root and potato soup with smoked shrimp, bone marrow crusted filet with mushroom risotto and a spiced chocolate terrine among others. Stay for Christmas Day, where he’ll be serving truffle roasted beef filet or turkey. The prix-fixe dinners are $88 for Christmas Eve and $75 for Christmas Day.

On New Year’s Eve, Palm Terrace will offer a five-course menu for $125, featuring a chilled seafood parfait, a spin on their famed mac and cheese, osso bucco veal and more. After dinner, step into the lounge to celebrate the New Year with small bites from Bracken and a champagne toast. And if you have too much fun, they’ll be serving up a hearty breakfast the next morning including steak and eggs, poached eggs on dungeness crab cakes and more.

So party down, settle down and rev yourself up all in one place this year. For a luxury stay and some of the best food in OC, there’s only one place to go — and you won’t even need a life jacket.

The Island Hotel is located at 690 Newport Center Dr., in Newport Beach. For more information on the hotel’s holiday events, call 866.554.4620 or visit their official web site at www.theislandhotel.com.
