T-Zones: Splendid Opens at Fashion Island

Simply put, there’s a uniform for the streets of SoCal. Peek over your sunglasses and you’ll see just about everyone in a slouchy T-shirt and the latest jeans. Not that it’s a bad thing, especially since Splendid has opened a boutique at Fashion Island, giving you a place to shop for the perfect T-shirt and every resource to put your own spin on California casual.

Started in 2002, Splendid is the result of decade-long quest for the perfect comfortable shirt. The founders started with just nine basic designs, but since the brand’s inception, the line has grown to include everything you need to perfect the casual nonchalance sported by OC’s hippest. Using only the most color-absorbing yarns, every tank, thermal, dress, shorts and, of course, T-shirt, is saturated with color, perfectly washed so it’s the softest top you have in your collection and almost guaranteed to become a favorite.

The store spans all of Splendid’s lines, including the full range for women, Splendid Girl and Splendid Littles for your tiny tots and Splendid Mills, the men’s line that’s become a celeb favorite. You won’t find a better selection of colors and styles anywhere else, and Splendid president Jonathan Saven even planned the store to be as comfortable as the brand’s T-shirts, “The store is designed to make visitors feel instantly at home in an environment as comfortable as the collection.”

And since green is the new black, whether you’re talking tops or the environment, the boutique has a wall of living vegetation, an open airy aesthetic and floor-to-ceiling glass that lets the sunshine in.  Looks like you’ll be finding a new favorite — and it’ll fit you to a T.
