Sol Search: SOL Cocina’s New Lunch Tasting Menu
If your lunchtime routine is getting a little staid, there’s nothing better than some dockside dining to cut the doldrums. SOL Cocina, one of Newport’s hottest spots for happy hour, is serving up a new lunch special just in time to make your winter hot, hot, hot.
Chef Deborah Schneider created a three-course tasting menu, the TOUR de SOL, which is the perfect opportunity to try her twists on traditional Baja cuisine whether you’re a SOL regular or it’s a first time visit. The menu even offers a margarita or a glass of wine, making this new offer a lunchtime stop you won’t want to miss.
Sate your lunchtime hunger by starting with a margarita, or skip that altogether if you’re not in the mood for a drink and skip to the second course, where you can choose from Schnedier’s corn and poblano soup, cocktel de marsicos, or SOL’s signature ensalada. As an entrée, she’s mixed up a long list of options, including street tacos filled with beef, chicken or carnitas, tortas, burritos and the quesadilla especiale. And if you skipped out on that drink earlier, you can indulge in SOL’s nachos dulces, the perfect ending to a lerisurely seasisde lunch on the marina.
So there’s no reason to stay in your lunchtime lull, head to SOL Cocina and you’ll definitely add some spice to your week’s routine. The TOUR de SOL menu will be offered Monday – Friday from 11:30 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Sol Cocina is located at 251 E. Coast Hwy. in Newport Beach on the Balboa Marina. 949.657.9800
