Russian Fashion Week Kicks off in Moscow

Russian Fashion Week (RFW), the biggest fashion event in Eastern Europe, commenced its 21st season in Moscow’s Congress-Hall today. It will be held until Oct. 21 and will turn the Russian capital into the world’s hottest fashion destination for this period.

Moscow is putting itself on the fashion map. The past four seasons have established it as a regular entry in the world fashion calendar next to national fashion weeks in Paris, Milan, London and New York.

RFW attracts more than 45,000 people and 1,000-plus accredited journalists and buyers seasonally. In past seasons, Russian Fashion Week staged shows by Vivienne Westwood, Julien MacDonald, La Perla, Catherine Malandrino, Jeremy Scott, Costume National, Francesco Smalto, JC de Castelbajac and other prominent international designers along with established and up-and-coming Russian brands.

RFW SS/2011 schedule will include more than 50 shows from cutting-edge designers from Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Lithuania, France, Peru, Italy and more. Desogner like Slava Zaitsev, Parfionova, Julia Nikolaeva, Lena Karnauhova, Chistova & Endourova, St. Bessarion, Egor Zaitsev, Masha Kravtsova, Tegin, Biryukov will shocese theis latest collections. This season RFW will host French Day.

RFW will also proceed with presentations by young designers, the format successfully launched last season.

As usual all the RFW shows will be broadcast in live on World Fashion Channel reaching out to millions of viewers.
