Philadelphia Fashion Week Kicks Off Today

The Fall buying fest is in full swing, but sometimes off-the-rack simply won’t do. For the insider access you need and crave, grab a seat tonight, October 6, through October 9 as Philadelphia Fashion Week hosts a series of fabulous fashion shows in the 23rd Street Armory.
The fun kicks off this evening with the 6 p.m. catwalk stylings of Delicious Boutique, LolliePop, Ban Thor Phan and Kampanart Buahombora. Stick around for the 8 p.m. show, too, featuring Arcadia & Bus Stop Boutiques and Carmelita Couture.
Each evening will be set to the beat of some of the area’s best DJs and musical acts. Tonight’s performers include DJ Matt Blank, DJ Bruce and the Casey Alvarez Band.
Tomorrow night is Student Designer Day, where the bright fashion minds of tomorrow, currently students at area schools like Drexel University, Moore College, University of Delaware and Philadelphia University, will give us a glimpse into the next big thing.
Since cutting edge couture will have you drooling, work that credit card at the on-site shops. Matthew Izzo, Traci Lynn Jewelry, Christina V. and more will be on hand to turn that inspiration into outfits.
Want to make sure you don’t miss your favorite designer’s collection? There’s an app for that. Apple mobile users can download the PhlFshnWk app to get to-the-minute details on every nights events and specials.
Philadelphia Fashion Week benefits the American Heart Association. The 23rd Street Armory is located at 22 South 23rd St. For all the details, check out www.philadelphiafashionweek.com.
