This weekend, it’s all about Honolulu’s latest haute “edition.” No, that’s not a mistake; I’m talking about the much-a-buzzed about Waikiki Edition Hotel. The creative new boutique hotel collaboration between hotelier and innovator, Ian Schrager and corporate big- wig, Bill Marriott is sure to be a hip hit. I’m sure you’ve heard about rumored soft openings here and there, but the Edition’s official debut will be celebrated with the crème de la crème of Oahu. Special guests will enjoy a series of fetes Friday through Sunday. Get ready glitterati! The Waikiki Edition is sure to be your new stomping ground.
Friday, Oct. 15: The Waikiki Edition Official Opening Party
Friday night marks the official opening party for The Waikiki Edition Hotel. Mix with the man himself, Ian Schrager, hip notables from New York, LA, Hawaii and other haute cities too. Starting at 6 p.m. invited guests will enjoy a BBQ at the Sunrise Pool & Private Sunset Beach plus live entertainment by Donavon Frankenreiter and Anuhea. Then, dance into the wee hours of the morning at the hotel’s industrial-strength, NYC-inspired nightclub Crazybox capped off with a champagne and omelet finale.
Saturday, Oct. 16: Unwrap Your Sweet Life
Dylan Lauren’s in town. Yep, that’s Ralph Lauren’s daughter and the femme behind NY’s infamous, Dylan’s Candy Bar. Lauren is celebrating the release of her new book, “Unwrap your Sweet Life” with a proper launch party at the Edition’s lobby bar and well, this soiree is sure to be sweet.
Sunday, Oct. 17: Iron Chef Morimoto
After a slew of unofficial launch parties, The Waikiki Edition Hotel’s just as haute eatery, Morimoto Waikiki officially says “Aloha.” Special guests for the evening will indulge in tastes of Morimoto’s cutting edge cuisine and cocktails. It’s an idyllic end to an Edition-laden weekend for VIPs and special guests alike.
