Eye Spy: The MAC Venomous Villains Collection and Exhibit at South Coast Plaza

Forget pretty pretty princesses — the MAC Venomous Villains collection celebrates a different side of beauty. The collaboration between Disney and one of makeup’s most recognizable names is a showcase of alter egos, style and glamour. And with the collection spotlighting four of Disney’s most iconic baddies, there was plenty of mischief and mirth alike.

South Coast Plaza was the only place to get the full Venomous Villains experience Oct. 1-3. Exclusive to Orange County, Disney and MAC created an immersive experience where animation buffs and makeup mavens could come together and explore the collection and attitudes of each villain.

Makeup consultations from senior MAC artist Jennifer Karsten, costume styling and photos were available to everyone, so whether you’re more of a Cruella de Vil, Evil queen or a Maleficent, all bases were covered from smoky eyes to red lips and everything between.  Even Dr. Facilier, Disney’s witch doctor, got a featured role. Together, the four collections included lipstick, eye shadows, powders and glosses that satisfied makeup collectors, beauty junkies and fans of Disney’s dark side.

After makeovers, guests were given the opportunity to don costumes and strike their fiercest poses before the pictures got uploaded to the MAC Venomous Villains global Web site, which allowed the would-be villains to share the images with the rest of the world through social networking websites like Twitter and Facebook.

The event and exhibit were just the start to South Coast Plaza Style, a weeklong celebration of style and fashion at the center that culminates with a fashion show and night of in-store events Oct. 5.
