Haute Event: Louis Vuitton and Heal the Bay Celebrate Louis Vuitton Opening in Santa Monica

On Thursday, Aug. 19, celebs, fashionistas, and socialites gathered to celebrate the opening of the 137th Louis Vuitton store in the United States at the newly renovated Santa Monica Place shopping center.

What was once a lower-end, rundown mall at the end of 3rd Street Promenade is currently the Westside’s premiere shopping destination. The mall now features stores like Barney’s CO-OP, Bloomingdale’s, Burberry and Kitson.

The 4,000 square-foot Louis Vuitton boutique opened on Aug. 6 on the ground floor of the mall and boasts a bag bar and lounge featuring rare LV items. The store will stay true to its location by selling more beach-friendly items like sunglasses and beach bags. Not only is this the first Louis Vuitton store on the Westside, but it is also the first LEED-certified, eco-friendly Louis Vuitton in the world.

An after-party was held at the oceanfront Annenberg Beach House in Santa Monica. The party benefited Heal the Bay, an organization dedicated to keeping the oceans, bays and waterways of Southern California healthy and clean.

The event was co-hosted by celebrity stylist Rachel Zoe, volleyball star Gabrielle Reese, and Susan Sarandon’s daughter, Eva Amuri. Zoe’s assitant Brad Goreski was there to support the cause along with other celebs such as Kristen Bell, Liam Hemsworth, Molly Sims, Serena Williams and Modern Family’s Sofia Vergara, many of whom showed up wearing classic Louis Vuitton.
