Michael Kors’ Big Wins

News | June 15, 2010

Michael Kors has kicked off his summer with a bang. First he received the CFDA Lifetime Achievement Award on June 7, and today it was announced that the American fashion designer will be honored with the top cancer service award by the Cancer Research Institute—the 2010 Oliver R. Grace Award for Distinguished Service in Advancing Cancer Research.

Tomorrow evening marks the 24th Annual Awards Dinner of the Cancer Research Institute, and there three-time Academy Award nominee Joan Allen will present Kors with this amazing honor. He is being recognized for his commitment to promoting awareness and raising funds for cancer research.

The Mandarin Oriental hotel in New York is the venue for the evening, where Kors’ fellow Project Runway host Nina Garcia is expected to attend. Marjorie Gubelmann, Terry Lundgren, Jamee Gregory, Lance LePere, Richard Sinnott, and Jarrod Kahn are also slated to attend this black-tie gala.
