What MADE Them Haute The former Spice Girl and the soccer star made international headlines when they decided to make Los Angeles their home. David can be credited with making soccer haute again in America, while Victoria can be credited with just being haute.

What Makes Them Haute Now: First of all, Los Angeles Galaxy player David Beckham still holds rank as the highest paid player in Major League Soccer, even though he sat out the past season due to a torn Achilles’ tendon. (He is guaranteed a reported $6.5 million this year alone.) While that injury is also keeping him sidelined at the World Cup, he is in attendance, offering support and advice to his English teammates. It was expected to come in handy during the England vs. U.S.A. match last Saturday, June 12; two of Beckham’s Galaxy teammates play for the U.S. But that insider advice didn’t seem to matter; the game ended in a 1-1 tie, a surprising outcome considering England was expected to trample Team U.S.A. Maybe if Beckham had been bending it on the field, they would have.
