Museum of the Moving Image Honors Katie Couric

News | May 6, 2010

On May 5, the Museum of the Moving Image celebrated their annual gala in which they recognize and honor two individuals in the world of media. This year the prestigious awards went to Katie Couric and Phil Kent for their amazing careers, which over the years have produced timeless interviews and news coverage.

The black-tie benefit was held at the St. Regis Hotel, where guests included premier media names such as Matt Lauer, Anderson Cooper, and Wolf Blitzer, among others. These same honorees and guests provide the support needed for the museum to continue in providing future members of the media industry with helpful programs and guidance.

“Television is integral to the subject we explore at Museum of the Moving Image, where we are proud to recognize outstanding figures such as Katie Couric and Phil Kent. Thanks to these honorees, and to the industry leaders who will pay tribute to them, the Museum will have much-appreciated support in providing students and teachers with a multitude of education programs, including tours, screenings, hands-on workshops, after-school activities, and professional-development seminars.”
