Fashion Label Milly’s E-Commerce Launch

News | May 6, 2010

These days just about everyone is launching e-commerce sites. Certainly it is a strategic move in a world that is becoming more and more dependent on the World Wide Web. And today, Milly, the feminine brand designed by FIT grad Michelle Smith, has introduced their e-commerce platform, MillyNY.com.

Incorporating runway videos and the ability to shop by category and occasion, this latest shopping site is unlike other similar platforms. Milly is definitely on a roll. After launching a costume jewelry collection for Spring 2010, the company plans to add a full collection of handbags next Spring 2011, with the intention to deliver a full line of ten styles about ten times a year.

Michelle Smith started Milly in 2000 with her husband Andrew Oshrin. Her background in the fashion industry includes stints with Louis Vuitton, Christian Dior, and Hermès. The brand is also a fixture at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York, and opened its first freestanding store in Tokyo last year. With all of this expansion, devoted Milly ladies can’t help but wonder when New York City will host a storefront.
