Erdem for Liberty of London

News | May 5, 2010

Liberty of London is having a moment. With its recent collaboration with Target, the storied British brand has caught the attention of everyone from New York City style setters to mid-western housewives looking to add a little pizzazz to their wardrobe.

Today we hear that Erdem Moralioglu, who was recently recognized as the Vogue/BFC Fashion Fund winner, would be taking on Liberty for himself, in a capsule collection expected to hit shelves this June. Using two typical Liberty print fabrics—Mabelle and Phoebe—Moralioglu is designing a range of 10 pieces in two colorways. One uses bold pinks, blues, yellows and purples, while the other is a more muted combination of sea foam greens, pinks and blues.

“I have adored Liberty ever since visiting London as a child—the amazing exterior of the store and going into those dark wooden stairwells. It has such vivid memories for me,” says Moralioglu. Certainly the designer has embraced those memories in this dashing collection of timeless apparel. The tunic dresses, full bodied skirts and sleeveless frocks are suitable for all variation of women, and will surely be staples when they debut this summer. Says Moralioglu, “They’re to keep forever and wear whenever you want.” And with that claim, we will definitely get our hands on one of these adorable styles soon enough.

Available from June in the Liberty store and online at www.liberty.co.uk.
