Brooks Brothers Expected to Open on 86th and Madison

News | May 11, 2010

Brooks Brothers is moving on up. Uptown, that is. The famed preppy retailer, perhaps best known for outfitting the blue blood New Englanders, has just signed a lease on Madison Avenue and 86th Street.

The 3,000-square-foot space in the Carnegie Hill section of New York City will occupy 1180 Madison, and is expected to be the size of the company’s Rockefeller Center outpost. A company spokesperson hinted that the Upper East Side locale would cater to the neighborhood’s residents, therefore focusing on the highlights of the Brooks Brothers collection. Expect an edited range of the boys and girls Fleece collection as well as men’s and women’s. And as this Manhattan nabe becomes a much more influential shopping district, opening up shop was inevitable. Lets just hope they find themselves a few loyal customers before other luxury retailers follow suit.
