Fit for a King: Haute 5 Presidential Suites in Los Angeles
Travel has changed a lot these days and we’re not just talking about our newfound knowledge of (and frustration over) Icelandic volcanoes. From Japan’s capsule hotels to paying for carry-on bags, the world of travel can induce an immediate onset of homesickness for anyone who doesn’t know how to travel like a jet setter. From first class flights to airport lounges and from private drivers to personal luggage handlers, there are many ways to ensure you travel in style, but none more than booking the one, the only – the Presidential Suite. There’s nothing rough and tumble about a hotel suite with the same square footage as your (second) apartment, so here are Los Angeles’ haute 5 Presidential Suites.
Beverly Hills Hotel’s Bungalow 5
The quintessential Beverly Hills destination, the Beverly Hills Hotel charms any and all travelers with its pink walls, palm trees, and secluded bungalows. No bungalow is more outfitted than number 5, though, with a private lap pool originally built for Walter Annenberg. As the lucky guest of Bungalow No. 5, you’re also met with a private dining area, living room with a wood burning fireplace, a separate kitchen, and an outdoor patio. The suite features seven rooms, four and a half bathrooms, and a storied past with previous guests including Elizabeth Taylor and Marilyn Monroe. A noble pursuit would be to create such bold memories in this bungalow that your name is added to that list, but keep in mind – what happens in LA, doesn’t always stay here.

Montage Beverly Hills Presidential Suite
On an endless pursuit of five-star luxury, the Montage Beverly Hills would require a lengthy bout of research – the semi-new hotel in the heart of Beverly Hills is outfitted from top to bottom with the highest end elements. Staying in the Presidential Suite will undoubtedly see guests off more spoiled than they were on arrival. With four rooms in the suite, a balcony with covetable Hollywood Hills views, and complimentary use of a Mercedes, your stay in this suite can be described as nothing but too short. Have high tea in the lobby, sip (or gulp) a glass of wine in the bar, or hide away in the spa, but whatever you do make sure you soak up the luxury of your suite before heading home.
Montage Beverly Hills is located at 255 N. Canon Drive in Beverly Hills (310) 860-7800
Sunset Tower Hotel Townhouse Suites
For those travelers on the hunt for a heavy dose of old Hollywood glamour, there is nowhere to go but the Sunset Tower Hotel. Their Townhouse Suites are gorgeous, split-level apartments with extra-high ceilings, dining and living rooms, outdoor terraces with enviable views, and an understated elegance that only the Sunset Tower can boast. Located on the Sunset Strip, this hotel is a Hollywood icon without having that same “hot mess” reputation as other of our city’s icons. Not only is the hotel particularly pet friendly (they provide mini-Sunset Tower beds, bowls, and treats), but they were once frequented by such legends as Howard Hughes, John Wayne, Frank Sinatra, and Errol Flynn. A Townhouse Suite just isn’t complete without a bit of Hollywood drama.

Raffles L’Ermitage Presidential Suite
Beverly Hills’ Raffles L’Ermitage hotel stands out largely because it’s so hush-hush. Very nearly forgotten by some of our city’s loudest denizens, Raffles L’Ermitage is known for one thing – offering up only the finer things in life. Their Presidential Suite is an embarrassment of riches with six rooms, thee and a half bathrooms, a grand piano, a large media room, six (count them, six) balconies with picturesque views, and your choice of a Lamborghini, Ferrari, or Bentley to drive, complimentary, during your stay. For the particularly pampered pet, Raffles L’Ermitage prepares a private pet dining menu and we imagine you’ll skip this bit, but the room is also outfitted with a treadmill. Just remember you have to go home at some point.
Raffles L’Ermitage is located at 9291 Burton Way in Beverly Hills (310) 278-3344
Beverly Wilshire Hotel
When you’re hankering for a chance to feel actually Presidential, perhaps your best chance is the Presidential Suite at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel, which is where our actual President stayed on his recent trip to the city of angels. With a wraparound balcony, high ceilings, seven rooms, three and a half bathrooms, distinctly regal accents, and toiletries from Asprey, its not hard to figure out why. This hotel, likely most recognizable for its starring role alongside Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman, is an old standard in Beverly Hills with Wolfgang Puck’s CUT steakhouse inside and a guest list that reads like a survey of who’s on the A-list. If you can think of something this suite is missing, you’ve got talent.
