Francky L’Official is one of the most sought-after hair stylists in New York City with a throng of socialite and celebrity clientele. A regular on Bravo’s The Real Housewives of New York City, Francky is also a guest expert on number of television shows.
Of the high end clientele that you service, is there a hairstyle that speaks to an image of timeless luxury?
Long sexy waves are always an image of timeless luxury because they are a feminine classic that will never fade.
What is the ‘it’ haircut of the season?
The pixie haircut!! I’m obsessed with it!! I wish more women would have the courage to cut their hair in that style.
Who is your favorite celebrity client and why?
My favorite celebrity client is Mackenzie Phillips. She has overcome so many obstacles in her life and is the nicest, most down to earth person I have ever met.
There has been a lot of media hype about highlights and monochrome hair color, especially considering the hair styles on the runway this past fashion week. In your opinion what is the best route for those that enjoy dye?
This style is a repeat of what I used to do back in Paris 10 years ago. I think it is for a young fashionable crowd. I would never recommend it to someone working in finance or a lawyer for that matter. It is a style that is much better suited for the fashion industry.
From winter to summer and Manhattan to the Hamptons, what are your hair care suggestions for maintaining healthy locks?
I definitely recommend doing an in-salon treatment once a week to keep your hair looking healthy. Some treatments I recommend include Kerastase Nutritive Masque or the Chroma Reflect Masque. It is also important to remember to use a leave in conditioner at home.
Do you have plans on expanding your product line or opening new salons either in New York City or other cities? “Hair Show by Francky L’Official” will be launched on HSE TV in Germany in August and beginning in 2011, it will be launched on HSN in America. Other than that, I am focused on my product line “Francky L’Official” available in my salon. I also have thoughts of opening a salon downtown and after that, another shop in LA.
