Rumor Has It: Petit-a-Porter?

This morning we told you about Richemont’s purchase of Net-a-Porter. Well now we hear that Natalie Massenet is hard at work on Petit-a-Porter, the pint-sized version of the adults-only shopping site. It was only a matter of time before the online fashion mecca launched into the world of tiny tots—I mean, with celeb children creating fashion buzz throughout the blogosphere kiddies have been on our sartorial minds. But is there really a market for the best-dressed offspring of fashionable mommies? If this rumor is any indication, then maybe.

Stella McCartney capitalized on this market with her two collections for Gap Kids, and other fashion greats have been successful with children’s collections. If Petit-a-Porter ever makes its cyber debut, we’re hoping to see Burberry trenches, 7 For All Mankind denim and Chloé ruffles. Who knows, maybe Mister Christian Louboutin will create a capsule collection of red-soled baby shoes…
