Opening Night of “Million Dollar Quartet”

News | April 12, 2010

“Million Dollar Quartet” opened on April 11 at the Nederlander Theatre in New York City, where guests gathered to enjoy a musical re-enactment of a historic day in rock-and-roll history. The musical focuses on the story behind the legendary jam session between rock icons; Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Carl Perkins.

Robert Britton Lyons plays Carl Perkins, Lance Guest as Johnny Cash, Levi Kreis as Jerry Lee Lewis and Eddie Clendening as Elvis Presley. The actors provided the music themselves as each played their own instrument and sang as well. Guests were thrilled throughout the musical, as the performers garnered thunderous applause throughout the show. Each performer truly embodied their real-life characters and were able to recreate the magic of that momentous session.
