Marleine Bastien, advocate for Haitian refugees and south Florida notable, was featured in a spread celebrating admirable women in the latest W Magazine. Photographed wearing a Frank Chaydez black cape and Carolina Amato gloves, she is highlighted specifically for her work helping women in Haiti start their own businesses.

As the founder and current executive director of Fanm Ayisyen Nan Miyami, Inc. (Haitian Women of Miami), Marleine Bastien is considered a true leader in the Haitian community of south Florida. She was also named in 1999 by the Miami Herald as one of the “Forty Special People to Watch in the next Millennium.”
