La Toya Jackson’s New Dream
There is a new collaboration we can’t seem to wrap our fingers around: La Toya Jackson recently partnered with German nail salon, skin care and cosmetics brand Alessandro International on the launch of a limited edition, luxury hand cream. Dream Cream, the $225, 100-ml. cream is the first high-end, luxury product produced by the international beauty company. Infusing vanilla, sweet almond and patchouli essences, the hand care product contains diamond powder, malachite, shea butter, peptides and other—albeit lavish—elements inside its luxe packaging, which is topped with 285 Swarovski crystals.
But why La Toya Jackson? Well, it seems she approached Alessandro’s founder and managing director, Silvia Troska, to complain of a lack of long lasting hand lotions and creams on the market. In what was a six-month development process, Jackson remained committed to creating the perfect formula, even calling Troska in the middle of the night to discuss samples.
Dream Cream was launched at the Beauty International trade fair in Dusseldorf from March 26 to 28. Jackson was on hand as the face of the cream, which she says is “a very luxurious feeling, it’s very satiny.”
Expect to see more from this beauty-obsessed duo in the future. Troska sees a void of elegant nail salons in Los Angeles, and has sought Jackson’s input on opening an outpost of her own Alessandro salons on Rodeo Drive. Says Jackson, “women pamper themselves in L.A., but there’s not an elegant place to do it in.” Here’s hoping these ladies set this plan into motion soon.
