Kasseem “Swizz Beatz” Dean
Industry: Music
What MADE Him Haute: The rapper/record producer and executive sold his first beat when he was just 17, and it became DMX’s hit single Ruff Ryders Anthem. The multi-talented Beatz is also a painter, collector, CEO, entrepreneur, father, and even the United Nation’s Music Ambassador for World Peace.

What Makes Him Haute Now: Well, first things first, he is going to be featured in the coming April/May edition of Haute Living New York. The issue will feature Clive Davis on the cover, and the entire edition will have a musical theme. Swizz Beatz teamed up with Jay-Z for the tune “On To the Next One,” which has become Haute Living’s battle cry (our CEO Kamal Hotchandani even came on stage to give his speech during the Market America World Conference with this track blaring). It’s a fitting theme song; Haute Living is always making moves, always growing, always trying to stay ahead of the competition. Swizz Beatz is certainly making moves as well. He and his now-girlfriend Alicia Keys went public for the first time this past week; for the 2010 Haute 100 New York list, chances are, these two be featured in the “Power Couple” category. For more in-depth coverage of Swizz Beatz, look for a copy of our April/May New York edition, or check back on the site around April 10, when the entire issue will go live.
