Chanel: Vanessa Paradis Replaces Lily Allen

In recent fashion news, it seems that Chanel will replace the face of their new line of handbags aptly named Coco Cocoon.

Lily Allen, the singer Chanel is replacing, announced on British Radio 1 that she’d be taking a one to two year hiatus from performing in order to pursue a career in fashion. She has plans to open her own high-end boutique.  Although the boutique will offer the hautest fashions, Lily Allen has adapted the concept of being able to rent the outfits as well.  As she so appropriately explains, “It’s about getting really nice clothes, but letting people rent them for affordable prices,” so they can go out and feel like a million dollars and it won’t cost them a million dollars.”

Replacing the beautiful and bold singer will be French actress and star of the current Chanel Coco Rouge lipstick ads, Vanessa Paradis, who along with the current ads has also worked with the company in the past.  More specifically, she starred in Chanel’s commercials for the Coco fragrance in 1992 and Ligne Cambon handbags in 2004.

This singer/model/actress is no stranger to the limelight and will surely exemplify what Chanel is looking for in a spokesperson.  Many fans of the line may also recognize Mrs. Paradis from her long lasting romance with American film icon, Johnny Depp, with whom she has had two children.

Her campaign ads for the Chanel Coco Rouge Spring Summer 2010 line will debut soon as well.  Chanel always provides customers with the most stylish and sensational looks and the face of their new line, Mrs. Paradis is the embodiment of those traditions.
